My Nana and Me Jewelry
as seen on Etsy, Facebook and Pinterest – Custom costume jewelry for your every occasion
My grand-daughter and I are making jewelry and memories,
all while she learns to run a business.
Our story:
One day, my granddaughter burst through the door, full of excitement. “Nana,” she exclaimed, “I have to create something for a school project about Ecuador. Can we make jewelry? I know you love that.”
I was so surprised. I had been searching for a way to tear her away from the digital abyss of her tablet, and this was it—the perfect escape. Without hesitation, I agreed. Together, we embarked on a colorful odyssey, weaving threads of Ecuadorian inspiration into delicate bracelets, shimmering earrings, and necklaces that whispered tales of distant lands.
But here’s the twist: Kids, they say the darnedest things. So, when I turned to my then 9-year-old granddaughter and said, “You know, these are really good. I bet we could sell this jewelry online,” her eyes widened.
“You mean, for real money?” she asked, her voice tinged with wonder. When I confirmed, “Yes, for real money,” she grinned and declared, “Oh yes, Nana, let’s DO THAT!” And just like that, our little jewelry store was born.
As an entrepreneurial spirit myself, I couldn’t resist the allure of this unexpected venture. We started when she was 9, and now, at 13, she’s blossomed from a jewelry maker into a marketing maven. Her nimble fingers no longer just string beads; they craft compelling ads and weave visual stories in our videos. (She even makes jewelry once in a while!)
Together, we’re forging memories—precious moments that transcend mere business. We laugh, we learn, and we dream. And the bonus? I’m imparting life’s essential lessons to her—the art of responsibility, the resilience to weather storms, and the spark of creativity.
So, welcome! May you find joy in our creations, knowing that each piece carries a piece of our hearts. And as you explore our Etsy shop, remember that you’re not just buying jewelry; you’re investing in dreams—for her future, for yours, and for the years to come. ?
Thank you for visiting!!!
